Walk in Penn’s Woods
Join us for a family-friendly
Walk in Penn’s Woods:
Sunday, October 1
11 am - 3 pm
Bring the kids and have fun with a nature scavenger hunt along The Summit Loop Trail. Look for shiny rocks, interesting insects, branches longer than your arms, and more. The Summit Loop is one mile long, making it ideal for families with young children. Take a rest on one of the many benches and chairs along the path, and keep your eyes open as you explore the forest.

What is “Walk in Penn’s Woods”?
The Pennsylvania Forestry Association has been organizing the annual Walk in Penn’s Woods since 2017. Walk in Penn’s Woods, a statewide coordinated event on the first Sunday in October, encourages people across Pennsylvania to learn how their local woods work, see forests in new ways, and appreciate and love the forests so that we can all care well for them.
Forests are always working for us, providing recreation, wildlife habitat, beauty, improved water quality, clean air, wood products, carbon storage, and more.
